iStarUSA 5.25" to 4x 2.5" SATA SAS 6 Gbps HDD Hot-swap Rack

The iStarUSA BPU-124DE-SS adds four hot-swap bays for 2.5-inch HDDs and SSDs in a single 5.25-inch bay of a PC or server chassis. It supports SATA I/II/III and SAS I/II drives at up to 6Gb/s and fits drives up to 15 mm thick.

The all-aluminum body dissipates heat, and two 40 mm fans move air from front to back. Each tray locks with a key, and LEDs show power, drive activity, overheating and fan failure. With a suitable controller you can build RAID and JBOD arrays.

Key features

• 4 drives in one bay - Four trays for 2.5-inch HDDs and SSDs up to 15 mm thick. The drive is fixed to the tray with screws.
• SATA and SAS up to 6Gb/s - Supports SATA I/II/III and SAS I/II drives. Each tray has its own 7-pin SATA data connector on the back, and power comes from a single 15-pin SATA connector.
• Hot-swap and locks - Plug & Play with hot-swap. A mechanical lock on each tray keeps the drive in place and prevents removal during operation.
• Efficient cooling - The all-aluminum body and two built-in 40 mm fans create front-to-back airflow and keep drive temperatures in check.
• Detailed status LEDs - Blue: power, purple blinking: drive access, fast red blinking: overheating, slow red blinking: fan failure. A rear switch disables the activity blinking.
• RAID ready - With a separate SATA or SAS RAID controller you can build RAID and JBOD arrays from 2.5-inch drives.
